- Engaged in Civic and Social Leadership at a non-profit organization through Bank of America Philanthropy, as part of community outreach program
- Worked 40 hours per week for 8 weeks at The Community House in Hinsdale and Willowbrook, Illinois
- Led learning and development activities for at-risk youth and children with autism, serving over 150 children
- Learned key aspects of managing non-profit organization, including operations, programming, social services, senior services, children's activities, fundraising, marketing, communications
- Attended weeklong Leadership Conference in Washington, D.C. with over 200 other Student Leaders
- Co-sponsored by Close Up Foundation, a recognized leader in civic education

- Participated in workshops led by Bank of America and Close Up staff to discuss strengths and leadership skills to make positive impact in the community

- Visited Capitol Hill to meet with congressional representatives and their staff; observed committee meetings and floor debates

- Meeting with 65 non-profit organizations
- Meeting with 40 senior Bank of America leaders
- Human Resources presentation on "Presenting Your Best Self. Creating Your Personal Brand"
- Meeting with Financial Education mentors on financial responsibility
- Pitching our community service to local media outlets for publicity and awareness

Bank of America Student Leader Program
Every year, through our Student Leaders program we help connect 225 community-minded high school juniors and seniors to employment, skills development and service. They’re awarded paid summer internships with local nonprofits such as Boys and Girls Clubs of America and participate in a national leadership summit in Washington, D.C. The Student Leaders Summit focuses on skill building and creating a more civically engaged society.
